This micro-credential course introduces mobile software development. Students will study native application development for the Android platform. The course will cover basic user-interface creation including dialog boxes, toast notifications and event-driven programming. Students will become familiar with the Android Studio integrated development environment (IDE) to develop basic apps. Students will apply JSON data from HTTP application programming interfaces (APIs) to present data from and API to a user. Students will use an Android emulator to run and test a mobile app on their computers.

This course is designed for American English Sign Language and Deaf Studies (ASDP) Certificate students as well as individuals that have some experience with ASL. The course offers the opportunity to maintain and enhance ASL by progressing from common concrete communications, communicative events and interactions, to language usage expressing abstract ideas. Emphasis is placed on the comprehension and production of increasingly complex linguistic structure with a focus on dialogue and conversational expressions.
This introductory course is designed for students with little or no knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). Students will learn the basic skills required to communicate with Deaf people and some rules of ASL grammar and syntax. Students will be exposed to everyday communications such as greetings and introductions and exchanging basic information. An introduction to Deaf culture and the Deaf Community will also be provided.
This course is a study of American Sign Language designed to increase the student’s proficiency in intermediate ASL communication skills with emphasis on comprehension and conversation skills, cultural awareness, grammatical features, facial expressions, and vocabulary development. This course will provide a continued focus on developing the student’s insight into the culture and community of Deaf people.

Leaders will acquire the knowledge, tools, and skills to lead, motivate, and build productive virtual and hybrid teams. Leaders will also explore how to create a cohesive team culture while leading virtual and hybrid projects and meetings.
This course is a basic introduction to programming using the Python programming language. Students will develop, code, test and debug programs for simple applications using proper programming principles and documentation. Topics include data types, variable declaration, control structures, methods, classes, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, arrays, and other data structures. No prior knowledge of programming is required.

This course examines topics in the Early Childhood Education system, including quality care, professionalism and the evolution of the system. Students also review the different sectors that make up the early childhood education system.
In this course, students explore information from the resource, The Science of Early Child Development – Introductory Edition. Readings, videos, links, interactive games and discussions are utilized by students to gain basic knowledge of child development and links to practice in early childhood education.
This course builds on previous development courses. It continues to examine fundamental theories of child development between the ages of 6 and 12 years. Students explore development and processes that are characteristic of this age group. They learn strategies and practices to prepare them for working with school aged children.
Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) must communicate effectively to develop collaborative partnerships in many aspects of their work with families and other professionals. Recognizing a child’s primary relationship is with the family, students gain a greater understanding of the role families play in all parts of a child’s life. Students also learn the importance of being an active member of the community and become knowledgeable about the community resources important for ECEs to support children and families.
This course builds on previous curriculum courses. It continues to promote the power of planning. Students review a variety of curriculum areas building on previous curriculum courses. Students continue to practice data collection. They analyze and share documentation that illustrates children’s learning and development. Additional processes and tools in the curriculum planning process is also examined.
This course is the final guiding course. It builds on and revisits fundamental guiding concepts from previous guiding courses. The course considers how children develop healthy relationships. Students learn to encourage positive behaviour. Specific needs of children and factors that may contribute to children’s behaviour are reviewed. Students respectfully respond to children’s behaviour by considering relationships with families and colleagues, collaboration with others and appropriate strategies.

The Intro to Electric Vehicle Technology course has been specifically designed to prepare technicians for the in depth training of Electric vehicle systems and diagnostics. This electrical hands on course is required because of the electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills required for working safely and confidently on today’s electric vehicles. Beginning with terminology and safe work practices, this 2 module, 10 day course covers electrical and electronic fundamentals, battery technology and charging methods, regenerative braking as well as data communications.
After taking the Intro to Electric Vehicle course, the technician will have a firm understanding of electrical, electronics, DVOM operation, battery and electrical safety and electrical diagnosis. This course will provide the strong electrical foundation and skills required for technicians to successfully maintain and diagnose electric vehicles.
This course includes both theory and practical instructional methods.
4 Seasons of Reconciliation is a three-hour online course that includes 10 interactive modules providing the foremost educational tool for corporate, community and classroom anti-racist training in providing the foundation on reconciliation with authentic Indigenous voices.

Training is delivered completely online and at your own pace.
