You will gain the ability to train beginners on how to operate a vehicle or to help individuals upgrade their driving abilities. You will develop skills to instruct, integrate safety and defensive driving techniques, and interpret sections of the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act.

This program includes 64 hours of classroom theory, followed by 28 hours of practical training and 4 hours of practical certification.

Participants will have nine (9) months from the end of the “Class 5 Theory” classroom portion of the program to complete all program requirements, including the theory examination, practical training and the practical certification.

Upon completion of the program, you may want to apply for a Manitoba Driver Training Permit (Note: successful completion of the course does not guarantee you will qualify for a permit). Contact Manitoba Public Insurance, Driver Training Permit Unit at 204.985.8063 or by email at PermitUnit@mpi.mb.ca for information regarding MPI requirements.
