Program Outline

To earn a Statement of Achievement, you must pass:

  1. Driver Instructor Training Theory
  2. Driver Instructor Training In-Car 
  3. Driver Instructor Training In-Car Certification Exam
You will need a minimum grade of 80% to pass each course.

Driver Instructor Training Theory (45 hours)

  • Schedule: Once a week, 6:00 pm  -  9:00 pm
  • Format:  In-person at Notre Dame Campus (NDC)
  • Final Exam:  Last Class at Notre Dame Campus (NDC)
  • Re-write Option: One week later, same time
Break After Exam:
  • Two weeks off if you pass on the first attempt.
  • One week off if you need to re-write.

Driver Instructor In-Car Training  (7 weeks)
  • Schedule: Once a week, 4 hours (e.g. Mondays 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
  • Format: You will work in student pairs with an instructor (2+1)
  • Location: Starts and ends at Notre Dame Campus (NDC)
  • Scheduling: You will choose a weekly time slot using an online booking system based on instructor availability.

Driver Instructor In-Car Certification Exam  (3 hours)

  • Timing: Within two weeks after the last in-car of in-car training session.
  • Duration: About 3 hours
  • Format: You will be with two instructors (one acts as a student driver, the other is the examiner).
  • Location: Notre Dame Campus (NDC)
  • Scheduling: You will choose a weekly time slot using an online booking system based on instructor availability.
  • Re-write Option: Within 2 weeks, if needed.
