In this course, students will explore the role of the shipping and receiving department within the supply chain. Starting with safety, they will learn warehouse operations and the policies and procedures related to the shipment and delivery of products. They will practice planning shipments for delivery and learn the importance of communication and organization to help ensure the smooth movement of goods. Students will identify sustainable practices in logistics and make recommendations for improving the efficiency of shipping and receiving processes. Finally, students will discuss useful strategies for de-escalating stressful situations and resolving conflicts in the warehouse.
Textbooks and Booklists
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
