This course introduces students to the essentials of computer hardware and software. Students build the beginner-level computer knowledge and skills needed for success in the program and their future IT careers.
This course teaches students to build a computer and connect it securely to a network, introducing the essentials of networking in a Cisco environment.
This course teaches the basics of programming using Python. Students solve problems, explore real-world software development challenges, and build practical, contemporary applications.
This course covers Microsoft Azure fundamentals, including managing subscriptions, securing identities, administering infrastructure, configuring virtual networking, connecting Azure to on-premises sites, managing network traffic, implementing storage solutions, creating and scaling virtual machines, deploying web apps and containers, and backing up, sharing, and monitoring data.
This course covers designing and implementing solutions that run on Microsoft Azure, with applications in computing, networking, storage, and security.
The first course in the three-course CCNA series, this course focuses on the fundamentals of networking. Students build the practical and conceptual skills to construct simple local area networks (LANs), perform basic router and switch configuration, and implement Internet Protocol (IP).
The second course in the three-course CCNA series, this course covers the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLANs) and network security concepts. Students learn to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches for advanced functionality using security best practices and to resolve common protocol issues in IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
The third course in the three-course CCNA series, this course covers the architecture, components, and security needed to scale for large, complex networks, including wide area network (WAN) technologies. It emphasizes network security and introduces network virtualization and automation, teaching students to configure, troubleshoot, and secure enterprise network devices and understand how APIs and configuration management tools enable network automation.
This course builds the foundational cybersecurity skills validated by the CompTIA Security+ certification (SY0-701), covering the core knowledge required for entry-level cybersecurity roles across five domains: general security concepts, threats and vulnerabilities, security architecture, security operations, and security program management and oversight.
This course introduces Linux system administration through Red Hat Enterprise Linux, building the core administration skills IT professionals need to manage Linux systems. Students develop competence with essential command-line concepts and enterprise-level tools, building a foundation for progressing toward full-time Linux system administration roles and further Red Hat certification.
This course introduces Windows PowerShell as a command-line shell and scripting language for system administration and automation. Students explore PowerShell's object-oriented architecture and scripting fundamentals, then write scripts, automate repetitive tasks, manage remote systems, and apply advanced features such as error handling, pipelines, scheduled tasks, and module management.
This course focuses on the skills required to administer Windows Server, including networking topics such as TCP/IP addressing, DNS configuration, DHCP configuration, remote access, distributed file-sharing solutions, and advanced network feature configuration.
This course develops technical writing skills for IT professionals, focusing on documents common to the industry such as proposals, summaries, network design documents, manuals, wikis, and process documentation. Students refine the language skills needed for effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients, and are introduced to software used to produce these documents.
This course develops the skills to manage a project through its later stages, including creating detailed schedules and plans, executing the project, managing issues and changes, and closing the project successfully. Students learn to keep a project on track, allocate resources effectively, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and apply lessons learned to future projects.
This course gives students an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles, including a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support.
This course covers the fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on AWS. Students learn to identify AWS services and features that build resilient, secure, and highly available solutions on the AWS Cloud, applying AWS-recommended architectural principles, best practices, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework to design optimal IT solutions based on real-world scenarios.
Students collaborate on a group project to simulate a comprehensive enterprise network, applying the skills learned in previous courses. They then troubleshoot and repair simulated network problems using industry best practices.
