MEDL-1052Histotechnology 1

Histology is the study of the microscopic anatomy of cells and tissue. Histotechnology is the technical preparation of tissue for examination under a microscope. In this course, students will explore the cellular structures of human organs and prepare tissues for staining. Students will be introduced to the theoretical and practical applications of tissue recognition and preparing clinical specimens for histological examination including; fixation, decalcification processing, embedding and microtomy.

MEDL-1048, MEDL-1050 and MEDL-1052 are corequisites
