CO-OP/Practicum Information

The Consolidated Clinical Practicum will provide you the opportunity to apply, in the practice setting, the knowledge and skills learned in the theory courses. You are eligible for clinical practice after successfully completing all theory courses and all practicum requirements.

The clinical practicum is 160-hours of supervised clinical practice in the area of clinical specialty completed over one academic term. You will be working with a clinical preceptor who has prescribing privileges and be under the direction of an RRC Polytech clinical course leader/advisor.

All clinical placements will be arranged by students. Students are expected to secure their clinical placement with an approved preceptor. Preceptors to clinical must be a prescriber, either an Authorized Nurse Prescriber, a Nurse Prescriber, or a Physician.

Clinical will include 4-5 simulation days for which students are required to attend at the Notre Dame Campus. Simulation hours are counted towards clinical practicum hours.
