This course is designed to give students the basic competencies needed to work with Local Area Networks. Participants will learn the skills necessary to pursue the COMP TIA Server plus certification. Students will be introduced to the cabling and network topologies used in industry, as well as the theoretical aspects of networks and network administration. Skill areas covered include creating and maintaining users and groups, regulating and securing access to resources, configuring access to printers, automating access via scripts, understanding system software, storage systems, disaster recovery and basic troubleshooting.
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
Note: Courses requiring a textbook will show "TR" in the Delivery field.
