More Information

This course is intended for entry-level computer support professionals with basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks and operating systems. This is intended to students that wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of Linux concepts and skills to prepare for a career in Linux support or administration, or to prepare for the CompTIA® Linux+(TM) certification. The course has tests and virtual labs for every section in the course that can be attempted as many times as desired.  There are three major, on line, written tests and two, on line, virtual lab tests. There is also an on line, proctored, final exam that will be written at a location determined by RRC.  The student will also have a limited, unsupported, time access (1 year), to sample Linux+ certification exams.

Prerequisites:
COMP-1273CCNA Level 1
More Information

This course conforms to the first of three courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Association (CCNA) designation. This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the internet and other computer networks. It uses the OSI and TCP layered models to examine the nature and roles of protocols and services at the application, network, data link, and physical layers. The principles and structure of IP addressing, and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. At the end of the course, students build simple LAN topologies by applying basic principles of cabling, performing basic configurations of network devices including routers and switches, and implementing IP addressing schemes.

COMP-1365Windows Deployment and Support
More Information

The purpose of this course is to address the implementation and desktop support needs of customers that are planning to deploy and support Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 and/or Windows 10 in a variety of stand-alone and network operating systems environments. It provides in-depth, hands-on training for Information Technology (IT) professionals responsible for the planning, implementation, management and support of  Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.

COMP-1434Network AdministrationRPL
More Information

This course is designed to give students the basic competencies needed to work with Local Area Networks. Participants will learn the skills necessary to pursue the COMP TIA Server plus certification. Students will be introduced to the cabling and network topologies used in industry, as well as the theoretical aspects of networks and network administration. Skill areas covered include creating and maintaining users and groups, regulating and securing access to resources, configuring access to printers, automating access via scripts, understanding system software, storage systems, disaster recovery and basic troubleshooting.

Prerequisites:
COMP-2273CCNA Level 2
More Information

This course conforms to the second of three courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation. The course expands on topics covered in Cisco Networking 1 and examines new topics.
