  • Residency: Due to high demand, this funded program is open to Manitoba residents only. Applications received from non-Manitoba residents for this program will be cancelled and the application fee will not be refunded.
  • Clinical work experience and field practicum
  • Graduates are eligible to challenge the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators (COPR) national licensing Entry-to-Practice Exam for Advance Care Paramedic

Description

This program provides you with the academic and clinical experience to work in the exciting and challenging field of emergency medical services. The program consists of seventeen (17) courses taken over seven (7) academic terms. In Term 7, students will complete two work-integrated learning courses including a Field Practicum course, as well as a Community Paramedic Clinical Rotation. 
 
The program is designed to allow the practicing Primary Care Paramedic the opportunity to complete most of their Advanced Care Paramedic studies in a distance delivery format.

The academic component of this program has components of online and in person activities for blended delivery. Clinical and Field practicum experience will be conducted in rural Manitoba and in Winnipeg.

This program will be based on the national occupational competency profile (NOCP) for Paramedicine – Advance Care Paramedicine, and the College of Paramedics of Manitoba (NOCP Variances) and will support employment opportunities in Manitoba.
