PARA-3020Advanced Neonate and Pediatric Studies

In this course, students will explore advanced theoretical concepts related to the assessment and management of disease, illness and injuries to the neonatal and pediatric populations with a focus on interventions within the scope of practice for the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP). The knowledge gained in this course will allow the Advanced Care Paramedic to assess and interpret signs and symptoms and develop a working differential diagnosis in order to initiate approved management techniques in neonatal and pediatric patients. In addition, this course will include instruction on neonatal resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support techniques.
