PARA-2015Community Paramedicine 1

In this course, students will be introduced to ways in which paramedics can provide primary, preventative and/or specialized healthcare to vulnerable patient populations as a means of improving equity in healthcare access. The course will cover topics such as understanding the role of community paramedicine, interprofessional collaboration in healthcare, and providing care for geriatric populations. The knowledge gained in this course will allow the paramedic to use their mobile care response skills to bring services to members of the community who may not be able to access available services otherwise.
