COMM-1197Communication Skills for Health Professionals 1

In this foundational course, students will build the communication skills they need for success in academic and healthcare settings. Students will practice reading, listening, speaking, and writing, with a focus on expressing ideas clearly and effectively. Through guided activities, students will learn how to organize their thoughts, summarize and synthesize information, and develop academic writing skills using the American Psychological Association (APA) format. Students will also strengthen their research skills using online databases and credible sources. By the end of this course, students will feel more confident communicating their ideas in both written and oral formats.
