NURS-2200Reproductive Health/STBBI

Apply the foundational knowledge obtained in the prerequisite course Essentials of RN Prescribing Practice (NURS-1100), as it relates to prescribing practices specific to STBBI and reproductive health. You will build on knowledge related to the pathogenesis of disease, concepts of immunology, safe assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of specific conditions. You will also be able to provide preventative practice measures and ongoing monitoring of clients. Further exploration of governing laws, regulations, and guidelines specific to STBBI and reproductive health, including the provision of care and the management of Combined Hormonal Contraception (CHC) and Progestin-only Hormonal Contraception (POC) will be discussed. Foundational and introductory knowledge are applied to the components of the nursing process and medical reasoning. You will draw on and apply knowledge of content and professional practice in completing critical thinking/clinical judgment case studies and tests.

Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
