LIST-0013Level 3 Skills for Listening and Speaking
In this intermediate-level course, students will develop their listening comprehension and socio-cultural communication skills for success in settlement contexts and prepare for academic and employment goals. Participants will practice listening to identify key phrases and information, speakers’ attitudes, and to make inferences and distinguish fact from opinion, in both conversational and pre-recorded contexts. Students will practice conversation management and facilitate discussions, as well as deliver short presentations and share opinions. Students will apply these skills in formal and casual situations, building confidence incorporating a range of expressions. Learners will continue to enhance fluency and expand accuracy with grammatical structures and vocabulary.
Textbooks and Booklists
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
Note: Courses requiring a textbook will show "TR" in the Delivery field.
