In this upper intermediate course, multilingual learners will improve their listening and speaking fluency for academic and employment readiness. Students will identify main ideas, supporting details and specific information, and academic vocabulary in complex employment and discipline-related listening texts. They will practice listening to identify bias, contrasting ideas, and cause and effect relationships, as well as to make predictions and inferences in a variety of listening contexts. Students will also practice delivering presentations on academic or employment-related topics, demonstrating strong fluency and accuracy in vocabulary and grammar.
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca.
