Description
The Drafting/CAD certificate program provides the
foundational knowledge and technical skills required to create and interpret
construction drawings for residential and commercial building projects.
Through courses in building materials, drafting principles,
technical drawing, construction methods and computer-aided design (CAD),
develop an understanding of how construction information is communicated
throughout the design and construction process. Gain practical experience
producing technical drawings, applying industry standards, and using digital
drafting tools to support project documentation and coordination.
The program prepares learners for entry-level drafting and
design support roles and provides a foundation for continued professional
development in areas such as digital design, building information modelling
(BIM) and construction technology.
