Objectives/Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Advanced Certificate in Project Management program, you should be able to:
  • Assume leadership as a manager of Project Management portfolios, programs and projects, applying PM practices within the framework or organizational objectives, strategic plans, operations, portfolios, and programs while applying the generally recognized framework, knowledge areas, process, and good practices of project management. 
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and leadership skills to build an environment of trust, respect, confidence and results within an organization while at the same time building an environment of professional and ethical conduct. 
  • Value and uphold the ethical, legal and organizational responsibilities project managers have to the people in the workplace, working effectively with the human resource professional in the organization. 
  • Lead, plan, and manage operations, portfolios, programs and projects to align with and support organizational objectives. 
  • Apply strategies to align projects to support and sustain organizational success, applying generally accepted PM methodologies, descriptive and prescriptive, to meet project requirements and adapting methodologies to changing project and organizational requirements. 
  • Apply agile methodology for software development projects. 
  • Identify, analyze, plan and implement organizational and enterprise changes using a variety of strategies and processes. 
  • Apply generally recognized business analysis practices, including business process improvement and defining business and project requirements. 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to life-long learning, attaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certifications and maintaining professional certification and standing through ongoing professional development. 
  • Use a variety of technology and software tools appropriate to the task including, but not limited to: MS Project Professional, MS Outlook, and MS OneNote.
