  • Available by classroom delivery; some courses available by distance delivery

For those students currently in the program, please reach out to the Continuing Education Health Sciences Program Facilitator as we will continue to work with you to complete your program.

Description

Take this program to acquire the knowledge and skills required to function as part of a health care team.

Learn the roles and responsibilities of a Health Unit Clerk (HUC), including:

  •      Maintaining patient and unit records
  •      Processing physician orders 
  •      Processing diagnostic and laboratory orders 
  •      Managing unit supplies

You must complete the program within 32 months from your first course of study to the end of clinical.

You must complete a Personal Health Information Act session prior to registering for the HUC-Clinical Practice.

Note: Clinical practicum placements cannot be guaranteed as spaces are limited and available on a fluctuating basis. There may be a waiting period for practicum registrations and placements.
