Description

The Civil Technician certificate program provides foundational technical knowledge and the practical skills required for careers in civil engineering, construction, surveying and related industries.

Learners complete the same first-year curriculum as the full-time Civil Engineering Technology diploma program, gaining competencies in mathematics, surveying, technical drawing, applied technical graphics, statics and strength of materials, chemistry, professional ethics, workplace safety and technical communication.

The program combines classroom learning with practical field experiences and Work-Integrated Learning, bridging theory and practice while developing industry-relevant skills in real-world settings.

Graduates may enter the workforce as civil engineering technicians or continue their studies by applying to Year 2 of the Civil Engineering Technology diploma program and pursuing one of five discipline areas: Architectural/Engineering, Environmental, Geomatics, Municipal or Structural Engineering Technology.
