Students in the program are required to purchase a laptop that meets or exceeds the specifications required for the program.


MacBooks are not recommended. However, if you choose to use a MacBook, it is required to have a valid Windows operating system installed before starting class. Bootcamp is built-into Mac applications so students can run Windows.

Required Software:
PDF Reader (Adobe or similar)
Autodesk AutoCAD 2026 (download instructions provided by instructor)

Required Equipment:
Architect’s Scale
Metric Scale
Engineer’s Scale
Mechanical Pencil or Lead Holder with 2H lead
Straight Edge
