Consider this program if you are a technologist or have an engineering, technical or scientific background and you want to improve your skills in technology management.
The Technology Management program is equivalent to a one-year, full-time course load. You should be able to complete the program on a part-time basis within three years.
The main focus of Technology Management is tactical. The program bridges between operational and strategic decision-making. Courses that reflect both operational and tactical decision-making include Project Management Fundamentals, Managing Roles and Values, Applied Research Methods and Production/Operations Management. Courses that are mainly tactical include Managerial Economics, Marketing of Technology and Graduation Project. Courses that reflect both tactical and strategic decision-making are Management of Technological Innovation and Business Policy.
The Technology Management program is more like a masters program in business administration than a project management program. The key difference between a business administration program and our Technology Management program is that the focus of transactions in business administration is business-to-retail, while the focus of our Technology Management program is business-to-business. As well, the business administration context is business, while the technology management context is technology.
