This program provides a clear pathway into Skilled Trades training, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in their next stage of education. Students who begin the program in January may apply to a Polytechnic Skilled Trades program for the following September intake, with applications due by April 1. Students who begin in September may apply for admission to the following January or September intake, with applications due by November 1.
To progress, students must successfully complete all requirements of the foundation program before advancing. Graduates of the Skilled Trades – Foundations program must meet all course requirements and maintain a minimum program grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (60%).
The program serves as a strong bridge to future opportunities in the Skilled Trades, enabling students to transition confidently from foundational learning to specialized trades training and rewarding career pathways.
