PHAR-1034Food Processing

In this course, students will be introduced to the basic principles and practices of food processing and packaging. Through hands on practice in a manufacturing environment, they will learn different food processing methods while discovering the functionality and purpose of various raw materials and ingredients. Students will also learn to distinguish between the processing and packaging of different food groups and products to determine how their physical and chemical properties are modified during the food processing and packaging processes.
