NRSG-1018Community Health Nursing
This course builds on previously registered nurses' knowledge and experience about the concepts, processes, and best practices associated with community health nursing in Canada. The course examines the determinants of health and strategies associated with health promotion, disease prevention, population health, epidemiology, environmental health, emergency preparedness and global health. This course considers the relational aspects of nursing practice within the individual, family, and community. Students will also explore the role of the community health nurse working with diverse and vulnerable populations, including clients across the life span. Emphasis is also placed on the nurse’s role in the concepts and principles of teaching and learning.
