This course introduces learners to the communicative language skills they will need for success in the fields of business and entrepreneurship in Canada. Students will develop their English Language competencies in the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, through learning business vocabulary, reading business articles, listening to business presentations and writing business emails and reports.
During this English for Specific purposes course students will gain knowledge and skills by taking on projects in which they investigate and respond to engaging and complex questions, problems or challenges within contexts related to business and entrepreneurship.
This course will explore research types, methods, and skills related to the business context, with an additional focus on APA documentation guidelines for academic writing. Students will vocabulary related to business research, conduct both primary and secondary research, design surveys, and build skill related to academic research, source integration, and APA documentation for researched writing.
