Program Outline

Level 1

  • March entry date
  • Duration: 16 weeks
  • Focus is on English language development in a nursing context
  • Offered at RRC's Language Training Centre

Level 2

  • January, April and September entry dates
  • Duration: The timeline for completing your courses is individualized based on your specific needs. The average completion time is 9 to 12 months.
  • Focus:
    • Prepares you to practice within the Canadian health care setting
    • Renews and enhances your previously acquired knowledge and skills
    • Prepares you to write the NCLEX-RN
  • Consists of 12 courses. The courses you will take are based on the outcome of the Competence Assessment as directed by the College of Registered Nurses.
  • Courses are offered by a combination of classroom and online (blended) delivery
  • Offered at RRC's Notre Dame Campus (NDC)

Level 3

  • January, April and September entry dates
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Focus:
    • Acute care medical-surgical nursing practice
    • Applying nursing concepts, theory and skills to the Canadian health care setting
    • Familiarization with the competencies expected of Registered Nurses in Canada
  • Consists of two non-paying supervised clinical practice courses. The courses you will take are based on the outcome of the Competence Assessment as directed by the College of Registered Nurses.
  • Offered at medical facilities
