Health Care Culture and Language Communication Skills
- This optional course is offered twice a year

- Focus is on English language development in a nursing context

Theoretical Component
- August, December and March entry dates
- Duration: The timeline for completing your courses is individualized based on your specific needs. The average completion time is 9 to 12 months.
- Focus:
- Prepares you to practice within the Canadian health care setting
- Renews and enhances your previously acquired knowledge and skills
- Prepares you to write the NCLEX-RN
- Consists of 12 courses. The courses you will take are based on the outcome of the Competence Assessment as directed by the College of Registered Nurses.
- Courses are offered by a combination of classroom and online (blended) delivery
- Offered at RRC's Notre Dame Campus (NDC)
Clinical Component
- August, December and March entry dates
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Focus:
- Acute care medical-surgical nursing practice
- Applying nursing concepts, theory and skills to the Canadian health care setting
- Familiarization with the competencies expected of Registered Nurses in Canada
- Consists of two non-paying supervised clinical practice courses.
- Offered at medical facilities
