GRAD-1593Digital Production Techniques 1

ZBrush is a revolutionary 3D modeling and texturing program. Using a pressure-sensitive tablet, students will be explore how Zbrush is used in computer graphics. Students will be introduced to the interface and workflow techniques involved in using ZBrush. Photoshop is heavily used in CG production. The ability to create custom-made 2D texture maps is fundamental for a 3D artist. Students will learn about different artistic approaches in creating textures for use in CG imagery, different techniques (handmade, manipulated scanned imagery and 3D compositing), repetition structures, and tileable and seamless motifs.
