This introductory level course will enhance the cultural knowledge of hearing impaired, a significant factor in learning sign language. Although there are no specific prerequisites, an appropriate reading and comprehension level is essential for success in this course. You must have access to a DVD player. The purchase of a textbook is required.
Improve the vocabulary and skills that you learned in ASL 101. Learn to give directions, describe others and make requests. Note: Your grammar and comprehension exercises become more involved.
Build on what you learned in ASL 102 and work on both your vocabulary and grammar. Learn to convey feelings about other people and to describe routines. Participate in activities designed to test your comprehension.
Note: All three courses emphasize the deaf culture, its values and social norms - all necessary in learning the language.
Advance the skills you learned in ASL 103 and improve your vocabulary and signing ability. Learn to describe situations as depicted by pictures.

This course is a continuation of Conversational Spanish Beginner and will build on your vocabulary.
In this course you will develop an immediate familiarity with the Russian language. You will be introduced to the Russian alphabet so that you can start reading and understanding simple words and phrases. Basic conversational dialogue; frequently used expressions, greetings, farewells, essential verbs will be presented helping you develop your oral skills. You will also be taught other essential vocabulary related to home, school, and work. Some basic grammatical information will be integrated throughout the course to assist in conversational skills development.
After completing this introductory course, students should have a good command of 325 Chinese words and expressions, 244 Chinese characters, 22 grammar items and 23 communicative function items, and thus have a basic command of Chinese.
