Program Outline

This program is designed for persons who want to refine their skills in management, focusing on the management of technologic based projects. The Technology Management program is equivalent to a one year, full-time course load. Students should be able to complete the program on a part-time basis within three years.

To obtain a certificate, students must successfully complete 10 prescribed courses (45 credit hours) from the program. The program comprises seven (7) 45-hour core technology management courses, three (3) 45-hour elective management courses.

To receive a certificate in Technology Management, students must successfully complete:

  • 7 core technology management courses
  • 3 elective management courses

• Managing Roles and Values - C
• Applied Finance for Technical Organizations - C
• Managerial Communications - C
• Marketing of Technology - C
• Management of Technological Innovation - C
• Business Policy – C
• Project Management Fundamentals - C/D
* Technology Management students will receive credit for Project Management Fundamentals by taking PROJ-1030 OR MGMT-1019

Elective courses (choose 3)  
• Human Behavior in Organizations - C/D
• Human Resource Management - C/D
• Production, Operations Management - C
• Managerial Economics - C

* Project Management track – Part-time students interested in a Project Management track can take the Project management course listed below as electives, these credits will count towards the Project Management Certificate program as well.

• Project Management Plan and Estimate  - C/D
• Project Management Team - C/D
• Project Management Risk - C/D
