Description
This diploma program will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to supervise and manage people and projects in a technical field. You will study the following topics:
- Project management
- Marketing
- Managerial communications
- Business policies
- Human organizational behavior
- Finance
- Economics
Technology Management is targeted to students with technical diplomas and degrees. The program offers a condensed, accessible solution to the demand for advanced management training by providing technologists and others with the knowledge and skills required to perform as supervisors or managers in technical organizations.
The program complements your current technical skills with important managerial skills. As a graduate you will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to:
- Adapt to changing technological environments
- Develop management strategies and business plans
- Identify market opportunities and develop and implement marketing strategies
- Manage research and development or technical projects
- Understand organizational diversity, manage it effectively and build multi-disciplinary teams
- Create budgets and apply the principles of economics, accounting, and finance
- Apply oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Note: This diploma program requires two more courses than the Technology Management certificate. For the diploma program you must also complete:
- Applied Research Methods (RESR-1004)
- Graduation Project (MGMT-1018)
