CO-OP/Practicum Information

To be eligible to register in the practicum you must:

1. Have successfully completed all theory based courses
and
2. Submit an Official Police Information (Adult Criminal Record) Check with Vulnerable Sector document conducted within six months and submitted prior to the start of the practical component of the program. Original documents must be submitted. For further information go to: Police Information Check

3. Submit an Official Adult Abuse Registry Check document conducted within six months and submitted prior to the start of the practical component of the program. Original documents must be submitted.

4. Submit an Official Provincial Child Abuse Registry Check document conducted within six months and submitted prior to the start of the practical component of the program. Original documents must be submitted.

5. Completed HSP Net Form.

You must submit these documents prior to registering for your field works. For more information, contact the Educational Assistant at cpfau@rrc.ca or 204-631-3367. 

Note to distance students: In some provinces a request for a criminal records check will be completed without the Vulnerable Sector Search. Please be sure you have both parts of the check. If your local police department requires a letter from the college explaining why you need this document, contact the Program Manager at 204-632-2904.

Field Work - Recognized Prior Learning (RPL)

You may RPL Field Work Community Based if you meet the criteria as outlined above and you have:
  1. Completed two years of full-time employment (4,000 hours) or the part-time equivalent in the last five years in the area related to the Community Based RPL.
  2. Contact the Educational Assistant at 204-631-3367prior to registering in the RPL.
