PDEV-1053Design Thinking
In this course we will study how using design principles and methods can help you better solve complex problems and find exceptional solutions. This exploration of using creative thinking principles will challenge you to think in innovative ways and produce innovative results. Topics covered will include mind mapping and ideation; prototyping ideas and problem solving; storytelling and design empathy. Design thinking principles can be applied to many areas beyond just products including things such as systems and procedures; strategy and innovation planning; and customer/user experiences.

By the end of this course of study, you should be able to:
- Explain what is design and design thinking
- Apply the design thinking process and develop creative skills
- Explain and group problem solve using design thinking relationships
- Create innovative solutions as part of the design experience
- Understand the principles of ideation, storytelling, design empathy, and activism with design
- Understand basic prototyping principles and present a finished idea using all the methods of design thinking
