NDIN-1000Liquid Penetrant Inspection

Liquid Penetrant is a method used to detect cracks extending to the surface of various objects.
CGSB Certification Option- Introduction to CGSB, EMR, Exam Applications and Certification
- Brief outline of other Non Destructive Inspection methods
- Materials and Processing; types of castings and procedures, millwork and forging, welding, service and repair, discontinuity and defects, discontinuity classifications
- Basic steps and procedures of penetrant inspection
- Types of different penetrants and their sequence
- Safety and system controls
- Practical experience
- Test and evaluation
This course is intended to meet the training requirements for Levels I and II CGSB Standard 48.9712-2006 for certification of NDT personnel – LP method.

Please note: There is no pre-requisite course required for the Non-CGSB Certification Option.
Textbooks and Booklists
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
Note: Courses requiring a textbook will show "TR" in the Delivery field.
