HEAL-1006Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 (ZOOL1071)

An introductory study of the structure and function of the human body. The gross and histological anatomy of each principal organ system is examined. The physiology of each organ system is also discussed. The principle of homeostasis is used to examine the correlation between structure and function and demonstrate the functional integration of the organ systems with each other. The importance of learning using correct terminology is stressed. Laboratory exercises support and enrich the theoretical content.

This course has credit hours in the Nursing Joint Baccalaureate Program.

Continuing Education HEAL-1006 will be offering 4 sections for 2022FA term.

Section CPN01 (230012) - Orientation session on LEARN Tuesday September 13, 2022@ 6:00pm; followed by asynchronous lecture and labs on Tuesdays 5:00pm – 7:00pm on the NDC. Testing will occur on Tuesday evenings on-campus and a personal laptop is required.

Section CPN02 (230014) - Orientation session on LEARN Tuesday September 13, 2022@ 6:00pm; followed by asynchronous lecture and labs on Tuesdays 7:00pm – 9:00pm on the NDC. Testing will occur on Tuesday evenings on-campus and a personal laptop is required.

Section CPN03 (230015) - Orientation session on LEARN Tuesday September 13, 2022@ 6:00pm; followed by asynchronous lecture and labs on Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pm on the NDC. Testing will occur on Saturday mornings on-campus and a personal laptop is required.

Section CPO04 (230016) - Orientation session on LEARN Tuesday September 13, 2022 @ 6:00pm; followed by asynchronous lecture and virtual office hours Thursdays 7:00pm – 9:00pm via LEARN.  Testing will occur online on Thursday evenings.

Textbooks and Booklists

Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.

Note: Courses requiring a textbook will show "TR" in the Delivery field.
