GENI-9345Air Sealing and Compartmentalization in Multifamily Buildings
This three-day course provides building professionals with the core knowledge needed to improve airtightness and compartmentalization in multifamily buildings. Participants will learn how air leakage impacts energy efficiency, moisture control, indoor air quality, and occupant comfort, and how to identify common leakage paths. The course covers practical air sealing strategies for exterior envelopes and interior partitions, with an emphasis on controlling inter-unit airflow while meeting fire and acoustic requirements. Participants will also learn how to apply field-tested techniques and interpret test results to support performance verification in both new construction and retrofit projects. These skills are essential for professionals navigating increasingly stringent energy codes and green building standards.
