This program is designed to assist current practicing Registered Nurses and practicing Registered Psychiatric Nurses to obtain knowledge and competencies necessary to incorporate prescriptive authority safely, competently and ethically into their professional nursing practice as required by their regulating body.
The program encompasses one core prescribing course, the choice of one specialty stream and a clinical practicum. The program will be offered on a part-time basis through distance delivery. Students must complete all program requirements within two years. The streams currently available to specialize in are: Travel Health, Reproductive Health/STBBI and Diabetes Health.
