The AME Refresher Course provides applicants eligible for the Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License an opportunity to prepare for the Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ("M" Category) exams.
All AME Refresher courses qualify for recurrency training.
Aircraft Technical Records - 14 hrs
Human Factors Initial Training- 14 hrs
Aviation Inventory Control Training - 28 hrs
Transport Canada AME Technical Exam attempts are to be booked at any local TC Office. For students that would like to attempt them between sessions two business days are available between training sessions where exam bookings can be made at the Winnipeg Transport Canada office. The Transport Canada AME Licence Application Supplement Technical Examinations Form #26-0638 and Exam Supplement Form is required to write TC technical exams during the following courses:

This course will assist persons who require recurrent training and is designed to aid a student in studying for preparation of the Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance (M Category) Standard Practice Exam. The student will be able to explain relevant areas as they pertain to:

This course prepares new employees with the basic skills and knowledge to function within an Aircraft Maintenance Organization’s Stores area.
Specific Objectives:
• Maintenance Management and how it applies in Stores
• Purpose of Inventory Control
• Roles of storekeeper and other personnel related to Stores
• Concept of Traceability, QC and required documentation
• Stock control, stock counting and count discrepancies corrections
• Proper material handling, packaging to prevent damage, including specialized materials
• Safety, personal and shop and prepare an inspection package
This course provides the theory and practical experience towards adjustments and change needed for the control system of the Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A series turbo prop aircraft engine along with engine design, troubleshooting and theory.
This course provides the student with operational theory, troubleshooting, inspection and repair methods for the Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A series turbo prop engine.
This course will aide the novice aircraft owner or pilot's understanding and performing owner maintenance or basic tasks on piston aircraft engines. It covers basic engine theory of operation and basic maintenance including fuel, ignition, lubrication, exhaust indication and electrical systems.
The students of this course will learn different covering and repair methods for fabric covered aircraft and their components.
This course provides the theory and practical experience to assess and repair damage on non-structural members of an aircraft or other equipment that utilizes composite parts.
Students will learn the theory and practical applications to vibration analysis and balancing for both fixed wing and rotary wing.
Meets requirements of Human Factors Training
• Includes methods of dealing with stress, fatigue, complacency and distraction
• Enhances communication and safety methods
• Examines efficiency in the workplace
• Certificate of Attendance for Human Factors Training is issued as a result of attending the full 14 hour session
Students enrolling in Part-Time and Online Education courses may be required to purchase textbooks and materials at participating Campus Store locations or online at bookstore.rrc.ca. Student booklists will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to scheduled course start dates. Please ensure materials are purchased in advance, to be available for the start date.
Note: Courses requiring a textbook will show "TR" in the Delivery field.

Please note that any anticipated costs are not included in Books and Supplies estimates.
A refund of tuition, less the $40.00 administration fee will be granted to students who officially withdraw from courses (17 hours or more) up to the day before the start of the second class. For workshops (16 hours or less), and some selected courses, partial refunds are available eight days prior to the first class. Subsequent to this, refunds shall not be granted.
A minimum number of eight registrations are required to run classes and will be confirmed 1 month prior to course start date .
