LIST-0050Level 5: Academic Listening for College Success

In this advanced listening course, learners will refine their academic listening skills for post-secondary success. Students will practice identifying examples and supporting information, facts and opinions, cause and effect relationships, as well as making predictions and inferences in a variety of listening contexts, including post-secondary level formal and informal lectures, presentations, and discussions. Additionally, students will explore strategies for recognizing bias, attitude, and tone. Throughout the course, students will apply listening strategies to practice advanced note taking skills, using a range of graphic organizers and styles for different types of listening tasks.
