AUTO-2067Surface Preparation and Refinishing Applications
During this course, students will learn the theoretical principles and practical procedures underpinning basic paint preparation in order to repair damaged vehicles. Theoretical topics will cover WHMIS practices, common refinishing terminology, basic paint preparation systems, products, equipment, and application procedures. In the practical component of this course, students will integrate theoretical knowledge from other courses with the skills required for practical applications. Students will exercise their theoretical knowledge of preparing panels for refinishing using the proper products, equipment, and procedures. This would include application of fillers and undercoats on projects. Students will also spend time applying the metal working skills that they had learned earlier on in the course.
