Are you detail-oriented, and enjoy helping others make smart financial decisions? The Financial Services major prepares you for a dynamic career in the fast-moving world of banking, insurance, and personal finance—where strong communication, trust, and analytical thinking are key.
You will gain a solid foundation in business fundamentals while developing specialized knowledge in financial planning principles, financial products and services, taxation and legal considerations, risk management techniques, and customer service best practices. Alongside this, you’ll build essential skills in communication, organization, and financial technology applications—all of which are critical for success in client-facing roles within the financial services industry.
This major was designed to provide pathways to industry and includes several courses that prepare you for industry certification exams. (Academic requirements may vary from RRC standards) Our partnerships include Canadian Securities Institute and the Insurance Institute of Canada. Financial Services students also receive advanced standing towards receiving the QAFP designation.
