This foundational course will give students theoretical and practical skills on how to start and run a freelance business in the corporate video production, broadcast, and film industries. Emphasis will be placed on the steps involved in starting a business, learning how to write a business plan, identifying government resources, tax considerations, and legal and regulatory processes that are integral to the media industry. Marketing, finding work, and working with clients will also be covered.
