The knowledge and skills acquired in this exciting program will allow you to work at a novice level position in a cabinet or millwork shop, working with the tools and materials to build cabinets, furniture and architectural millwork products. It may also serve as an avenue to Apprenticeship.

You will begin by learning about the safe operation of tools and equipment used to produce cabinets, furniture, and other wood products. You will then learn and work with construction details, materials, hardware, drafting, computers and finishing techniques. You will receive instruction about the functioning of today’s woodworking industry and how to work in it. A major group project will challenge and make use of all skills learned in the term. Employment opportunities remain excellent in Manitoba.
