Description
This purpose of the Advanced Care Paramedic program is to provide advanced training to rural and northern emergency medical service (EMS) professionals.
The program will use an integrated/blended approach to learning. The program will be delivered on a full time basis. It consists of theory courses delivered to students in an online distance mode, supported by faculty through the use of learning technologies. It will include in-person skill practice sessions in a paramedic classroom/laboratory setting, and followed by hands-on training sessions in clinical settings.
The final field practicum experience will be undertaken with an experienced ACP practitioner and will provide students with the opportunity to complete all competencies outlined in the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) outlined by the Paramedic Association of Canada.
