You can take a variety of Grade 11 courses if you are a high school graduate requiring specific courses for college or university, or if you are looking to attain the Mature Student High School Diploma (MSHSD).
You will benefit from both group and individualized instruction in all courses.
All Grade 11 courses, with the exception of SEMR-0229 WHMIS Workshop, may be applied to the Mature Student High School Diploma.
No tuition is charged for this program for citizens or permanent residents of Canada. You pay a non-refundable materials fee of $30 per course, except for high school graduates who have 34 or more credits. In this case the course(s) are no longer subsidized and you will be required to pay $312 per course.

Adult Learning Centre - Notre Dame Campus, Winnipeg
This five-month program is offered twice a year. Entry dates are late August and early February. Classes are held at the College's Notre Dame Campus and are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Textbooks are rented to you by the RRC Polytech bookstore at approximately 10% of the cost of the book(s).
Steinbach Community Learning Centre
Classes are held at the Steinbach Community Learning Centre, Unit 2 - 385 Loewen Blvd. If you are interested in attaining your Grade 12 diploma or taking pre-requisite courses for College or University entrance, Red River College Polytechnic ~ Steinbach Adult Learning Centre offers a Mature Grade 12 Diploma Program. Steinbach Adult Learning Centre offers high school courses in a variety of subject areas with instructor led blended learning classrooms. No tuition is charged for this program although a $30.00 non-refundable materials fee per course. To be eligible to register for the Mature Grade 12 Diploma you must be 19 years of age and have been out of school for one year. Registration is on a continuous intake with courses starting at various times throughout the year. Winkler Community Learning Centre
Courses are delivered via independent study with some courses available as instructor-led classes. Instructors are available to assist Monday through Friday during the day as well as two evenings at the Winkler Community Learning Centre, 100 - 561 Main Street. Please contact the office for instructor hours.
Admission is on a continuous intake basis from September to June. Instructor-led classes start at various times throughout the year as dictated by student numbers. Some courses may require a textbook. A deposit of $30.00 is required for each book unless the book’s value is over $40.00 which will require a 50% deposit of the book’s value. Any books not returned to the Learning Centre at the end of the term will be invoiced to the student at the full replacement cost including GST. If the book’s value is less than $20.00, the deposit is forfeited.

The Grade 11 program can help you meet the academic entrance requirements for some College programs. This program prepares you for entrance into the Grade 12 program.
Red River College Polytechnic is a participating institution in the HigherEdPoints program. Through this program, students are able to convert Aeroplan® Miles and TD Points into funds to help cover their tuition. Family members and friends can also contribute to a student’s education by converting their loyalty points - anyone can donate their points to an individual student.

Chemistry 30S is a study of matter and its properties, as well as application of all these chemical phenomena in our daily life. WHMIS, states of matter, properties of gases, chemical reactions, solutions and organic chemistry will be taught at this level of Chemistry. In this course we will be following the curriculum set out for Chemistry 30S by Manitoba Education.
This course will support citizenship as a core concept and engage students in historical inquiry. The focus will be on First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples; French/English Duality, identity, diversity and citizenship; governance and economics; and Canada and the world.
This course is designed to help you understand mathematical concepts in a non-abstract and practical manner. The course involves hands-on exercises, projects, and everyday life applications. Topics include the following: systems of equations, geometry, personal finance, relations and functions, linear programming, trigonometry, and co-ordinate geometry.
This course covers fundamental concepts, first degree equations, products and factoring, algebraic fractions, exponents and radicals, quadratic and simultaneous equations, mensurational and analytical geometry, ratio and proportion, trigonometry, sine waves, radians, and logarithms.

This courses uses hands-on learning through labs and activities, as well as problem-solving. There are three broad sections: waves, mechanics, and fields. The waves section includes a general study of waves and studies of sound and light. The mechanics section consists of kinematics (motion) and dynamics (forces affecting motion), along with an introduction to vectors. The fields section includes a study of gravitational fields, electric fields, and magnetic fields. A good knowledge of Grade 10 algebra is required.
Online learning is a critical component of course delivery in all Red River College Polytechnic programs. To ensure each student has the tools they need to achieve their academic goals, all Red River College Polytechnic students require, at minimum:
1. Off-campus access to a current computer with a webcam
2. A high speed internet connection
• Recommended minimum speed: 10 mbps for download, 3 mbps for upload
• Slower internet connection speeds may result in audio and video issues. Please keep in mind that if others in your home are using the same internet connection at the same time as you are, you may also experience audio and video issues.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process which documents and compares an individual's prior learning gained from prior education, work and life experiences and personal study to the learning outcomes in College courses/programs. For more information, please visit www.rrc.ca/rpl.
