This course provides a conceptual understanding of the staffing function within human resources management. Students will apply key processes including recruitment sourcing, candidate selection, hiring, and onboarding, with a focus on aligning these practices to organizational needs. The students will integrate principles of workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how to apply them effectively throughout recruitment and selection activities. Students will analyze current trends in recruitment and selection, including the use of artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and evolving candidate expectations. Social media and professional networking platforms will be considered in how to develop proactive talent acquisition strategies. Through mock recruitment exercises and interview simulations, students rrc.ca 1 demonstrate how best practices and workplace policies connect for ethical and compliant hiring. The course also covers methods for evaluating existing staffing programs for efficiency, effectiveness, and legal compliance.
