Description

Prepare for a career in the fast-growing and key business field of human resource management (HRM). You will learn the fundamental components of an HR program, including staffing, recruitment, selection, compensation, training and development.

You’ll also examine current issues and industry trends, labour relations, plus workplace safety and health.

This program is now accredited by the provincial certifying body, the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Manitoba (CPHR Manitoba).

Graduates of Red River College’s HR Management Certificate program will qualify to receive their professional designation upon graduation and will be able to waive writing the National Knowledge Exam (NKE).

The NKE is a required step to pursue the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, which is the national industry standard of excellence.

Red River College’s HR Management program graduates need to complete four of the following five electives in order to qualify for the waiver to write the NKE:

  • Employment and Labor Law (HUMR-1022)
  • Organizational Development (HUMR-1003)
  • Strategic HR Planning (HUMR-1058)
  • Occupational Safety and Health (SAFE-1000)
  • HR Metrics and Analytics (HUMR-1028)
